Biography

Mark Hibbett grew up in Peterborough before moving to Leicester to go to college. He spent the next twenty years in indie bands, during which time he released one of the world's first ever internet singles (Hey Hey 16K), performed live on Radio One, had a Record Of The Year in Rolling Stone, an Album Of The Day on 6Music, and released six albums, including the full-cast science fiction rock opera Dinosaur Planet.

He's written and performed in six musicals which have appeared at the Edinburgh, Camden, Brighton, Buxton and Reading Fringe Festivals as well as touring around the country. In 2014 he finished an MA in Screenwriting at City University, for which he received a distinction. Since then he's had success in several major screenwriting competitions, reaching the finals of the Stage 32 Happy Writers TV Writing Contest, Bluecat Feature Screenplay Competition, Nickelodeon Writers' Program, Screenwriting Goldmine awards, Big Break Screenwriting Contest and Scriptapalooza TV.

On top of all that he also books and comperes the monthly Totally Acoustic night at The King & Queen in London's Fitzrovia.
