Storm House

The new novel by Mark Hibbett, Available to buy NOW from Amazon.

The first day in a new job usually involves meeting new people, a health and safety induction, and not being able to log in to your computer. Joanne Hussein's first day at Sir Hugo Storm's House Of Unusual Interest involves all of these things plus mummies, exploding statues, shark-men from outer space, and a terrifying high-speed race through London's secret underground system. Along the way she teams up with Ariadne Storm (the nominal boss), Professor Margot Danson (the actual boss) and Doug Walton (bossed around) to discover the truth about Storm House's founder, and save the world from an alien invasion.

'Storm House' is a science-fiction adventure full of ideas, jokes and thrills that tells the story of a secret organisation that has been trying to defend Britain from the weird, uncanny and rum since Victorian times. They haven't always entirely succeeded, but at least they're trying.

This is the first novel by Mark Hibbett. He has spent the past 20 years playing with his band The Validators, during which time they released one of the world's first ever internet singles ('Hey Hey 16K'), performed live on Radio One, had a Record Of The Year in Rolling Stone, an Album Of The Day on 6Music, and released eight albums, including the full-cast rock opera 'Dinosaur Planet'. He's written and performed in six musicals with his friend Steve Hewitt, and the pair have appeared at the Edinburgh, Camden, Brighton, Buxton and Reading Fringe Festivals as well as touring around the country.

"Mark Hibbett is hugely talented and very funny. I love Storm House." Andrew Cartmel (The Vinyl Detective, Doctor Who)
