Songs: No Matter How Far Afield I Stray

notes / gigs / releases

I thought you'd taken everything
When you drove off in that van the other day
But when i was tidying the flat
I found a lock of hair of yours that seemed to say:

I'll never go out of your life, oh no,
No matter how far afield I stray

I went to get a pen, and when
I looked into my desktop drawer, what did i see?
A photograph of you and me
And the look upon your face appeared to say:

I'll never go out of your life, oh no,
No matter how far afield I stray

And when you're lying on your death-bed we both know
You'll see a face from many years ago
I guess it's true, that Fate can be unkind
Still i'll still look Quite Handsome in your mind
(if only in your mind)
And I'll never go out of your life, oh no,
No matter how far afield I stray

TThe IDEA of this one is that, though it's a bit annoying that your BRANE refuses to let go of people in your past and chooses to REMIND you of them on a regular basis, the compensation is that they probably have the same problem with you in THEIR brain. Nice idea, not a very ROBUST song though!
