Songs: What I Always Think While Watching Poetrynotes / gigs / releases
If you can't be bothered to learn an instrument
At least learn the lines
If you can't be bothered to learn the lines
At least make it rhyme
If you can't be bothered to make it rhyme
At least make it scan
If you can't be bothered to make it follow roughly the same scanning system throughout
At least make the subject matter interesting
If you can't make it interesting
Keep it short.

This isn't actually a song at all, it's a POEM! I woke up this morning (22/10/2007) with my BRANE already thinking about various things, one of which being how Slightly Annoyed I nearly always get when I do gigs with poets. Despite every effort to think PURE THOUGHTS i almost always think "What a bunch of LAZY SODS! Why not put some effort in a learn to play music - or just get the social skills to find someone ELSE who can - and turn it into a SONG? And if they can't be ARSED to do that, can't they at least LEARN THE BLOODY WORDS? People would NOT be impressed if I came on stage and read all my lyrics off a sheet of paper, so how come they can get away with it? GRR!!"
Instead of Getting A Bit Riled, like I normally do, i instead lay there and thought of a POEM about it, which I tried to make FIT the IDEAS (like it rhymes when it talks about rhyming - CLEVER EH?), and then dashed next door to type it up. I now await the NEXT time I play with poets, when i shall (probably) UNLEASH it!
